164 - Full Clip: Bullet Points For Stimulus & Health Care Water Cooler Wars / Global Economic Justice Advances: Martin Luther King Would Be Pleased

Today, a varied show.

To start off with, multiple QuickBlasts to give you ammo in the water cooler wars over the economy and health care reform. A cornucopia of right-wing lies and hypocrisy conclusively disposed of.

Then, a foreign policy roundup: where things are going well, and not so well, in the Third World's struggle to be free of Western economic domination. A lot of ups and downs, but overall headed in a positive direction.

Call-in on Honduras

(PS: Right-wingers, if you want to write in to me, fine, but at least do me the courtesy of listening to the podcast first. Please don't respond just on the basis of the brief preview above. Thanks!!)

Scheduling note: episodes of Blast The Right will be posted every three weeks.

  1. You know the jobless rate in South Africa of Blacks being "nearly six times that of white" is pretty good figuring there are 8.8 times as many black Africans as there are white.
Salvador Allende is a pretty crappy example. His first year as President was alright but the other 2 years preceding his suicide in La Moneda saw 140% rise in inflation, multitudes of strikes by Chilean workers, a soaring deficit and a huge decrease in exports and increase in imports (mainly food).
Lastly I know you said there was a cautionary side to "rebellious pawns" and I totally agree. Idi Amin was a "rebellious pawn".
