Today, as befits the holiday season, I'm going to show you how to ratchet up the pressure quite a bit on those phony Christians I call right-wing pseudo-Christians.
You'll soon be able to make them distinctly uncomfortable, if not downright apoplectic.
It has something to do with the fact, that right-wing pseudo-Christians spend their whole lives fervently working to achieve the exact opposite of what Jesus commanded them to do regarding their brother and sister human beings in need.
(PS: Right-wingers, if you want to write in to me, fine, but at least do me the courtesy of listening to the podcast first. Please don't respond just on the basis of the brief preview above. Thanks!!)
Scheduling note: episodes of Blast The Right will be posted every three weeks.
First off I love this show!!!! Jack knows more about how Christians should live than most Christians (incl. myself) know.
ReplyDeleteOne thing, he skips over the part about prisons ... There are several issues assoc. with prisons: 1) More people are in US prisons than any other country in history! 2) Most of those in the prison sys. are drug offenders that have not been convicted of any other crime. 3) Drug use is a mental health issue. People with mental health issues should not be put into jails. 4) Given the vast scale of this population in prison, it can only be described as an atrocity!! 5) Prisons are well known for their inhuman treatment of prisoners. 6) This "holocost" (sp?) in America must stop immed!!
Be careful of using only part of scripture to prove a point and ignore portions of it not immed. applicable to an argument you make. It is not generally the best way to go & is what the right wing crowd does all the time.
91% tax rate on the wealthiest corporations is not a problem. Eisenhower was right and maybe if these corporate leeches had to pay something they might be a bit more responsible. As it is, they have useful idiots (which, btw, Lenin NEVER said) like O'Reilly crying over them having to pay any tax at all. O'Reilly doesn't know history, good manners or any type of social skills (reference Malmedy, Senator Franken and Mackris). Why that bum has any audience is beyond me. Healthcare should be a right, not a privilege for the money. The question is will there be any type of improvement for the poor? Single-payer, which is the only solution to the problem, has been rejected and discredited by the big O as well as Fox News. You would think they were really on the same side when it all boils down to it. Maybe they are on the same side. Rush is a waste of space and anyone should be able to see that he's only interested in plugging his sponsors idiotology. He got great treatment when he had that scare in the 5-star hotel in Hawaii. He didn't even have to wait in the emergency room. Gee, I guess the best healthcare on Earth IS in the United States. When you make $48 million dollars a year, you don't even need to worry about having insurance. Back to the big O: he supports forcing people to buy insurance policies from private insurance carriers and this is just wrong. If he had single-payer and it meant increase in taxes, that would be fair enough. What isn't fair is to let private insurance carriers who are known to make huge profits make off with yet another gift at the expense of the people. How does someone who can't afford dinner or rent pay for a plan and the government doesn't even offer something to compete with the private carriers? It's time for these politicians in service to big business to stop and start serving the people. I know that sounds bad, but people should come first. It's time to stop being apologists for people who are determined to serve big business when they know full well their business is to serve the people. It's time to stop dumping the burden of "making" politicians be "progressive". If any elected official is so out of touch they don't have a clue as to what the working or unemployed classes have to face daily, they don't want to know. To not do what's right for the people is arguably called 'fascism'. There's been enough of that.
